end of week{s} update.

it's friday again...already?

these past two weeks have been occupied with things keeping us busy that would have to be titled as...nothing really. as in, nothing monumental. nothing extravagant. nothing life-changing. nothing worth slowing the spinning of the world down and making it cycle in the opposite direction just to experience it again. ok, so i think you get my point.

things that are worth mentioning however...

relationship building. with friends and within or little family (lots of candy land playing).

miley's 10-month check up - weighing in at 14 lbs. 2 oz. the dr. was a bit concerned as she took a dive in her own growth curve. she's well below the 0 percentile. and we will be visiting again in a few weeks for a weigh-in. if only i had to have weigh-ins because of concern of gaining weight. if only.

i've been thinking a lot about my own attitude about things that have come up unexpectedly in our financial lives. i found it quite coincidental that we pray often for the Lord to provide us with our daily bread - those things in life which we need to get by - He seems to deliver every time, because after all, we do eat, sleep, drink and breathe to this day. we recently discovered that our little subi needs an operation. it needs a new transmission less than a year into our ownership. bummer. as we were lamenting over the grand cost of this surgery, i was reminded of the Lord's provision. we received our tax return with the amount needed for the car on top of the amount that i was expecting to receive. yet, we were still griping over the cost. the Lord knew all along that we would be facing this obstacle, with the obstacle in the horizon of paying for seminary. He knew that we would come to a place of trusting in His daily bread, yet again. why do i pray for His provision and then get grumpy when He provides it? makes no sense to me. i am just so thankful that we have the means to pay for it and that He answered, as always. {and okay...maybe this experience has been a bit extravagant - life lessons always are}

and only because it's so popular and i have this need to follow the crowd (totally kidding), i thought i'd mention my progress on my whole 'lifestyle' change (we don't like the word diet, right?). i really should have a 'weigh-in' day, but i don't. i really should be keeping track of what i eat, when i eat, and what's working, but i don't. i really should be keeping track of when i work out and when i don't...but i don't. for me, it's in my head and reflects on the scale. on those days that i get the courage to find out how my hard work has been paid off, i step on the cold metal feet pads and take a deep breath. the hubby and i started this challenge together on jan. 21st. tomorrow's a month (gasp). by the words of the book that we are {somewhat} faithfully following, it promised for me to lose 8-13 pounds in the first two weeks. i lost eight. seven of which were in the first week. strange, i know. it then anticipated only one pound per week after the initial first stage. it's been pretty on track. i weighed myself a few days ago and i was up to a total of 10 lbs lost. i'm happily below the 130 mark and still striving to reach a goal by the time i leave for my europe adventures. i have felt better - i can squat on the ground to be eye level with jess and not feel the pain in my legs and ankles. i can exercise for longer periods of time and not need an oxygen mask. i'm not nearly as tired throughout the day - only when miley still wakes me up at night. i'm not dependant on starbucks (whoo-hoo). i can fit into my size 4's - haven't done that for 2 1/2 years. i can eat smaller portions and feel full. i'm eating breakfast faithfully. and not eating past 7 at night. those are all reasons why i'm doing this. to be healthy. to feel healthy again. to drink more water. to take care of myself so that i can always be there to take care of my family. i saw myself progressively gaining weight at a rapid speed and needed to stop the madness - darn those late-twenties. and it's working. i never would have thought that i could do this. but i am and it feels good.

i must sheepishly admit that i've been blogging in my head for the past two weeks. there have been so many things that i want to post and remember (document), but haven't had the time to do. i will call this the 'catch-up part 1'. the girls have been hilarious. the hubby has been super sweet. and my heart has had some adjustments. life keeps me dancing to its beat. and i'm just trying to keep up.
