faith in moving.

this whole big process has been a ginormous stretching, twisting, and knotting of my faith. i am always thankful for a good workout routine when it comes to healthifying my faith in the Lord. it builds stamina, integrity, and patience as i sift through the fiftieth sippy cup. the thirty-sixth 3 month teeny tiny shirt. the one-hundred and fourteenth vase. and as i seal up the six-millionth box, i am reminded that He is faithful to the last zip of the tape gun. the next five months are ahead of us, clear as the sun coming over the horizon on a crisp new morning. we know where we will be calling home for those quick months. we know where our heads will lie. we know how to get to the grocery store from our new humble abode. it's familiar. we know it well.

and after that?

this is where the workout routine is coming in handy. it's building my faith muscles for the next big move. only 150 days away. the only concrete fact in our minds is the city that we are moving to. the details of, oh...where we will call home and...well, where jacob will work...and well, you know, the seemingly important things to a mom who wants to have security for her children are completely unknown*. to us. and amazingly, i'm okay with our current unknowns. i always like to think of my own life as my best testimony to myself. it takes me two seconds to look back over my 27 years and realize that i have absolutely nothing to fear. i don't need to let my pride of control take over. i don't need to worry and agonize over our daily needs once we're in dallas. today, i can say that i {we} am happily fed. thankfully clothed. {mostly} healthy. and most of all, have a God who loves and cares enough to meet us daily. for me, He's been faithfully providing for 9,975 days. i have absolutely no evidence to argue that His daily bread runs out. it's not His character.

so here's to early rising to get a good faith workout. to keep the stamina strong. to be able to look back and know that He did it again. all is well.

*we have been responsible where needed. you know, in case you were wondering. we are on a waiting list for the family apartments on campus. #64 on the list to be exact and won't find out until april where our standing lies. and as for the job...jacob only needs very part time work to qualify for benefits and has already sent in his resume for an excellent opportunity. ideally, seminary studies will be his full time job.

on a completely different side note: i need to give these a proper goodbye. though tacky in style, incredibly comfortable and warm to my feet. they carried me out in the cold. they didn't mind being trudged on, worn down, and tossed to the bottom of the closet. they were faithful to the end. still looking quite photogenic, hiding their huge holes worn through the bottom of both soles. they will be dearly missed. farewell leopard slippers. farewell.

  2. you are counting down the days already! So sad. :(

I can really relate with you about the whole moving thing and not knowing all the little details, like where you will live, where Jacob will work-you know just itty bitty things like that.

When Dave and I moved here, I was 6 months prego-our housing fell through, and Daves job feel through. And me being quite the planner that I am was borderline freaking out. I say borderline becuase like you said, God has never failed me in the past, why would He now? Everything ended up way better than had we gotten our original housing and dave his original job-so I always remind myself-When my plans (that I think are great) fall through, I try not to be bummed/stressed-because it means God has something so much better in store.

Sorry this is so long;) But I am always amazed at His faithfulness! I know He has great things for you:)
