as we all know, it is a historic day. a day in our nation that won't be easily forgotten. it's been sort of 'fun' watching msnbc fox news all day. watching the exit polls. listening to the citizens of this great nation share their concerns. watching hopefuls for their party in anticipation. watching the large amount of new voters stepping up to be heard. the counting. the lines. the waiting. it's all quite exciting.
i want to be able to remember what i was thinking on this day. to remember what to tell my girls that i was doing. as for our events of today, it's been quite lazy. rainy. gloomy. cold. windy. but cozy and warm inside our fireplace heated house. the hubby worked only a half day at the job. only to come home and work some more on homework and a broken chevy truck. girls are sleeping. the hum of the computer and voices of the news casts fill the air as i reflect.
what have i been doing today? praying. and praying some more. i understand that this great nation belongs to the Lord. i have been called to pray for our leaders. for each other as a country. whoever 'wins' this great honor to be called president, i pray he surrenders his role in leadership to the Lord. he will be a stepping stone for the forward movement of God's plans. i pray that the Lord will lead him. i pray that he is humbled. i pray that we, as a nation, respect him. God's great plan will not be foiled either way. it will not crumble. or even slightly falter. today has been ordained from the beginning.
i pray that i will readily wait and anticipate the Lord on this day. He is at work. He steadies the pages of history. today is no different. and He never takes a day off.
AMEN! i have goosepimples!!!!
