putting 'it' into practice.

i'm learning a lot about myself lately. about being a mommy to a baby who doesn't like to sleep through the night. about being a wife to an over-worked husband. i know these are circumstances that come and pass. times in our life that don't last long. each challenge in my daily grind whispers a lesson to be taught. to be soaked in. i'm learning to listen with an open heart. as i trudge my way through the house in the middle of the night to soothe soft cries, i hear my own heart weeping for rest. as i listen to my poor husband's tired voice, it's my own tired spirit that creeps in. humble me, Lord. give me patience.

and that's just it. i'm learning about patience in processes. in relationships. in time. all of these like to pull and twist me in knots of different proportions. i'm humbled to know that the Lord is taking His time with me. illuminating what perfect patience looks like. giving grace at unexpected times. who would know that perfect grace is found at two thirty in the morning?

He is the way. the truth. the light.

i can't joyfully find my way through the dark without His truth guiding my every step. i can't peacefully find rest without His hand upon my every breath. small moments are in His care. the Lord waits for my call. even at two thirty in the morning.

  1. Isn't it funny how morphing into a mommy brings so many new insights about yourself? some good and some not so good (for me anyway!)

    see you tomorrow!

PS I have one of J's bracelets-I will try to remember to bring it tomorrow.
