it's been one of those mornings. a pooey one at that. yes, i said pooey, i have a toddler. questions have run through my head like, "do i have to scrub the bathroom floor one more time? really?" this after the toilet majorly flooding, and i mean titanically. and after a certain little one totally misses the toilet in a valid attempt at using the potty. i've also asked myself, "do i have to be this clumsy? do i really get to dig that important item out of a sealed up kitchen garbage and clean it off? do i have to climb that mountain of dishes today - can't i just put it off until tomorrow? could i possibly get spit-up on one more time?" knowing this is just a threat because it definitely will most certainly happen again. and again.
and that's just it. i walked around half of the day today with a stench airing about me. and i don't mean just in my attitude. but this makes for a great metaphor. an unknown smell kept following me around the house. it was driving me crazy! something so fowl. sour. well...
it was [literally] in front of my nose the whole time. leave all jokes behind. i have been so wrapped up in my own woes for the day that i had forgotten that miss miley spit up on my collar, right under my chin. not changing my shirt, i had been sniffing the not-so-pleasant odor of motherhood all day. you know the smell. gross.
that just goes to show that i have a choice to change. be it my own shirt or my attitude.
What a good reminder! I hope the rest of your day smells better :)
