it looks like we're really doin' it.

i'm just going to say it before it happens: today is going to fly by. our day is completely jammed packed. my brain reminded me of our schedule this morning by waking me up extra early and not allowing my eyes to re-shut. shameful, i tell you.

my mom organized a get together dessert with our family last night that was simply wonderful {thanks mom}! when you add dq ice cream cake with a bunch of people that totally rock, it's guaranteed to be a winner. it was fun to hang out and capture a few family pics that we can take with us.

i'm happy to report that our repacking (and i mean opening.almost.every.box.again) efforts paid off. with 38 years of packing experience between the two of them, the hubby and dad fit all of our desired belongings into the back of the rv trailer. and in the front. and the sides. and maybe underneath? okay, not really. but the important part? it.all.fit. yay! we will also be driving in style with our wrapped leather love seat on top of our car. the subi wanted to get in on the action as well. we reached the weight limit the rv could pull and the boys will be taking it for a test run on the highway this afternoon. i'm criss-crossing any part of my body that possibly can in hopes that the axle doesn't implode or tires don't pop and come rolling off. join me, won't you?

after visiting grandmas and grandpas, brothers and sisters, niece and nephews, aunts and cousins today...running a few errands...finishing loading the food for our trip...packing our suitcases...cleaning the parent's house...we'll finish the evening out to dinner and in bed. tomorrow morning is another early morning as we will hit the road by 8am. our first destination for the long haul? somewhere in idaho. happy travels!
