a little vitamin D done us some good.

i know it's going to be a good day when my first reminder in the morning from the hubby is, "don't forget your sunglasses today!" yesss! sunshine!

we most definitely made the best of it. jacob had to sub for flag football today, so i took the girls to my in-law's church. we went there last week as a family, too, and really enjoyed their fellowship. i walked away thinking to myself, this is really a place i could get involved. give something to. be a part of relational building. not that i'm not happy with where we've been going...it's just really nice to go where our family goes, you know?!

after church, the girls and i shopped for lunch and bought hunny a new kitty to add to the family. after all, sister started her "pet" ownership yesterday. miley became instantly attached to jessa's and i quickly realized that the whole buying two bit is starting. i never really had the chance to experience this with two older brothers. help?

okay, and seriously? our afternoon was exactly what simple country folk experience. because i'm totally an expert, right? not. BUT, i did get a sweet piece of peace today as we strolled the rolling roads - frogs croaking, plumes of smoke wafting, deer grazing, tossing rocks in creeks, picture taking, old barn gazing - it was a little bit of perfect. it ended in bowls of sliced strawberries on the back porch, a warm cup of coffee, two little snakedy girls in a bath tub and plenty of snuggles before bed.

besides for the goodness of my lungs, i totally need days like today. a perfect way for it to end for us country folk? the country music awards - enjoying the good tunes of sugarland, carrie underwood, taylor swift and brooks and dunn. a little keith urban doesn't hurt anyone either. honestly, my dial isn't tuned into country radio in the car, so i don't plan on recongnizing many of today's artists. should be fun anyway.
