two steps forward. one step back.

a big step in the process has been completed this weekend. we (the girls and i accompanied the hubby and got to spend some extra quality time with grammy and papa too) took our load down to tc to keep in storage until our next big move. during this next week, we will slowly take boxes that we are currently living out of up to our next destination.

a week from today, we will clean the carpets of the house and lock the door for one last time. i'm starting to develop a different vocab that sounds a lot like that, "the last time i'm doing this..." or "this is the last time i'll be driving down this way..." or "that's the last for that..." etc. honestly, it brings a sadness to a deep part of my chest. it feels heavy. hard to ignore. resonating.

and i don't like it.

my plan?

jedi mind trick.

i've convinced my inner id that i'm retreating to scrapbook paradise. our next home will be in the mountains (somewhat). the views are gorgeously sprawling, with elk and deer that graze their way down through the valleys (this is all true). with town being thirty minutes away, i plan on staying in and completing loads of scrapbook projects. good plan, right? the fact that it's a new environment, new changes, and new routines (to an extent), the time is going to whiz by. with all of that said, i'm still going to miss this house like crazy. it's my place of warmth and comfort. my hole of sentimentality. between these walls, wisdom was soaked in. laughter bounced back and forth. the dust bunnies were even cuter (okay, that's pushing it). i'm just a girlie mess of emotions and have a great way of keeping them to myself. no matter what facade i put on in the morning, don't be fooled by the blubber ball hiding inside. *wink.
