i was just blind-sided and kicked back to the year 2003 when our car was broken into and personal information was stolen from the glove box. i received this letter in the mail today from our lovely mortgage company:
"we are writing to inform you that we recently became aware that an employee (now former) may have sold unauthorized personal information about you to a third party. based on a joint investigation conducted by said mortgage company and law enforcement authorities, it was determined that the customer information involved in this incident included your name, address, social security number, mortgage loan number, and various other loan and application information."
blah. blah. blah. ex-cuuu-se mu-ah? what?! may have sold? various other information? so not cool with me. as i continued reading their attempt at sincere apologies and to reestablish my trust in their valid attempts at safeguarding our personal information, my protection radar was beeping fervently. we are now enrolled in a two-year daily monitoring plan of our credit reports through the bureaus.
it's a strange feeling when your personal information is violated. we've been taken advantage of, like so many. jacob's hard work could be flushed down the toilet with the horrible, immature choice of one person. it shouldn't be that easy. it also immediately made me question where my trust lies. is it in some business bureau? obviously not. is it in the mortgage company? gah. no way. there is only one security system that can never be breached. it is the only place i keep my trust. most importantly, the only place i keep the safeguards of my heart. with that said, no more worries. no more anticipating fraud. i've done my best to protect our earthly belongings. there's nothing else i can physically do. it now lies in the hands of my heavenly enforcement. and no one wants to mess with that. *smiles
you are so funny-i like the way you think! thanks for reminding all of us who is in control:)
