twenty years past

so i just saw this on some co-blogger's blogs and am blog-jacking it because it's totally fun. (how many times can you say blog in one sentence?) even though i was not officially tagged, here goes. watch for your name at the end, i will be tagging a few of you!

my twenty year span

twenty years ago...
i was about to turn seven and really wanted a pinata at my birthday party.
i had just returned from my first trip to disneyland - thanks mom and dad!
i was attending the quaint private school down the hill from our house and wearing those adorable uniforms.
i loved coloring, tracing and collecting stickers.
i owned the best dog in the world.

ten years ago...
i was still bumming rides from friends, looking forward to taking my driver's ed course my junior year.
i was working my first job at a delicious chinese restaurant.
i was dreaming of who i wanted to marry and filling my journal pages with the gooey details.
i was serving the Lord in Scotland on a deputation trip.
i was being introduced to scrapbooking - eek!

five years ago...
i was twenty one years old and still "newly" married, just celebrating our one year anniversary.
i was 'family planning' with the hubby.
i was working long hours at the scrapbook store, getting my feet wet in teaching.
i weighed 101 pounds.
i was buying my first house.

three years ago...
i was continuing to fall in love with my new baby girl and still healing from a c-section.
i was saying goodbye to my husband's home church and joining a new church family.
i was molded into MOPS as a DGL.
i was reorganizing my time as a wife, mother and scrapbook teacher.
i missed going to wallowa lake with the family.

one year ago...
i was six weeks pregnant, giddy and sharing the good news.
i was struggling with my health.
i was saying goodbye to a scrapbook store that had become family.
i was returning from a surprise anniversary trip to disneyland - thanks hubby!
i was praying. a lot.

so far this year...
i am balancing my new role as a mama of two.
i am entranced with my new baby girl's smile.
i am teaching, learning and correcting.
i am preparing for our family's next big adventure.
i am enjoying the fruits of my friendships.

yesterday...
i was a hermit in the house...jammies, unshowered and a splitting headache.
i tackled my laundry load, scrubbed dirty dishes and cleaned off my dresser.
i prepared bags and boxes for the ARC to pick up.
i read about never riding your elephant to school.
i caught up on my so you think you can dance episode.

today...
i rose early.
i took jess to get a haircut - super cute.
i got my creative juices flowing with an afternoon of scrapbooking.
i loaded the fridge with new groceries.
i watched my little princess grace the living room floor with her dancing talents.

tomorrow...
i will enjoy the early part of the day downtown at 'kid's day' with our neighbors and the girls, meeting elmo, cookie monster and trash gordon - lucky me!
i will help celebrate an anniversary and a birthday.
i will continue to prepare for our trip.
i will say goodbye to the hubs as he heads off to work.
i will most likely enjoy a starbucks frappuchino.

next year...
i will be living in dallas. most likely.
i will be supporting my husband as he buries his face in books.
i will be homeschooling my preschooler.
i will have a one year old. again.
i will continue to praise my God for His glorious blessings.
