-jess and i had to go on a binky hunt as seven of miley girl's binks mysteriously disappeared. i casually asked the hubby if he threw them away in attempts of me not noticing. or grammy swooped in faster than a superhero and obliterated them with her lazy shooting eyes. basically, there's really no explanation. on our treasure hunt, we found four. i'm expecting to find the last few in the strangest, least expectant places. you know, like the freezer. the oven. in my sock drawer. i'll go ahead and let 'em surprise me.

-besides binky treasure hunts, jessa has been recently intrigued with names. particularly in knowing the contestant's names on game shows, especially wheel of fortune. she constantly asks, "what's her name, mama? what's his name again?", working extra hard to memorize them. she's also expanding her creativity by coming up with new bedtime stories. after i give my turn telling a story off the top of my head {usually involving princesses or a story from the bible}, she declares with eagerness that she wants to tell me one. tonight was especially creative. it involved something along the lines of a princess, a baby girl, a dinosaur destroying a house and Jesus from heaven fixing it with glue. don't worry, the princess and baby girl were ok and 'were able to go to the store to fill their broken bed, now fixed, with new toys and pillows. the end.'

-miley girl. oh, miley girl. she's a hoot...and i'll tell you why. she's one little jabber bug and her voice is so stinkin' cute. i could listen to her special gibberish for hours. she's added a few understandable words to her list including, 'this', 'push', 'juice', 'shoes', 'uh-oh' and a couple of sign language concepts. she plays games with her eyes and giggles at her own silliness. it's so amazing {and a bit entertaining} as she continues to grow intellectually. she's understanding so much more each day.
{this is before his recent haircut and comment from jess saying, "daddy, your hair is CRAZY!"}-the hubby has been rocking school already. with the anticipation of a busy first day, he bolted for the library and completed his first assignment. reading early has proven to pay off, as he is 9 weeks ahead in memorization for greek and has already completed the required reading in one class for the semester. this most definitely does not mean it will be easy. it just might 'lighten' his load an eensy-weensy teeny-tiny bit. maybe. he continues to work part time at starbucks and so far, the scheduling seems to be working out. he's a rock star in my eyes.
I love how you capture your family!
