i need help (i know what you're thinking and you can just stop right there). you know those compulsive buys that end up being more than a ten dollar shirt? the ones that you've been throwing around in the back of your brain and never thought they'd be a reality? and then you're driving the package home in the front seat of the car like a new baby with a good size dent in your debit card? yeah...those kind. okay, so i told you i ended up bringing home a new mini laptop from costco the other day. did i mention it's mini? cause i love everything miniature and petite. i think it's an illness...give me mini quiches and i'll eat twenty. mini pepsi? yes please. mini jars of any kind? yup. my gran'ma even calls me mini-me...yes, it's that bad.
back to the problem. i'm not too entirely sure that i want to keep the computer. yes, it would be lovely to have for our move because i can blog from my lap on our eight hour driving days. yes, it would be lovely to have because it's new, fast and completely light weight i might fling it out the window by simply picking it up. yes, it's lovely because it's mini.
now for the cons. if i returned it, we would be down to one computer that jacob would be taking every day to school (which is not a horrible thing - at least, not too terrible). it actually cost money...i know, weird, huh?! i will mostly be using it for picture editing and all things internet. with the screen being extra tiny, it is a little challenging to see the pictures when i'm in picnik, even though i can zoom in to get a better look. is this something that i will just get used to? and thank the Lord that i have good vision? maybe. honestly, it's hard for me to define a need. because, really, what are my essential needs in life? i'm pretty sure it's not an adorable barbie-sized computer for convenience and reliability. then again?
what have been those purchases in your life that you've attempted to justify or haven't needed to? tell me your stories and how you deal with the popular "buyer's remorse". oh, and i have 86 days to make up my mind. and if you're wondering what the hubby thinks...he said it's totally up to me. why couldn't he just say no and make this a whole lot easier? *wink.
Its really up to you. I will be using the laptop everyday and very often.

ReplyDeleteYou "need" it as an outlet for your creativity. It's ok to sometimes splurge on ourselves. The Lord does it all the time. :)
