after walking and walking and walking around england, we've traveled our way southeast to beautiful france. it is described best in an excerpt from my journey journal:
'i've traveled from charming to enchanting! i have most definitely been swept off of my feet by the gentle breeze that lightly passes through the open windows in my auntie and uncle's gorgeous villa. the air is extra refreshing...it has a way of seeping into my every pore and enlivening any mood. relaxing. calming. serenity abounds through every rustling palm. through every mountainous peak view. through the harmonious croak of evening toads and chirps of the late night crickets by the poolside.'
it's true. there's something special about the air here. the villas sit floating on the rock mountain sides, perched in beauty and detail. their stucco exterior lends to their rustic charm. my auntie took me to gourdon this morning - a very small village perche {"perched village"}. it best reminded me of belle's little town in beauty and the beast. the shopkeepers stood close by guarding their quaint market rows of brightly colored candies, perfume bottles and silk scarves. i was consistently greeted with a friendly and kind "bonjour madame!", a slight nod of the head and a warm, welcoming smile. it was truly enchanting!
Sounds wonderful!!
