adventures continue...

have i really only been gone two and a half weeks? because seriously, as the tears welled last night looking at pictures of my baby girls and handsome hubby, it quickly turned into feeling like months. three weeks is too long, i've decided.

not that i'm having the most fabulous time of my life because come on, VENICE?! yeah! it was just like my dream. vibrantly colored shutters on old cracking buildings with pops of the most gorgeous flowers on every balcony. the grand canal was buzzing with water buses, gondolas and boat taxis. the rialto bridge was hopping with tourists as we walked over it and sailed under it. dinner on the canal was romantic, which made me miss my hubby even more. obviously. walking the cobblestone streets was a wonderland of adventure and serenity. i had to have my gran'ma pinch me because for a moment, i couldn't even believe i was there. the moon gifted us with being full and i was able to capture venice at night with the full moon just on the horizon of the canal. it glowed more brilliantly than ever...so it seemed. the hotel we stayed in for two nights was once an old abby, also known as the monk's dormitories. it was very cool. however, we were woken up by 143 bell chimes each morning by the local square bell tower. quite lovely at 7:15 in the morning.

it is killing me just a bit that i can't put any pictures up yet. but soon...very soon. i've only taken about 1400 so far and paris hasn't even happened yet. we leave for paris tomorrow morning and then sunday we fly back to london, stay the night and fly home monday. as gran'ma puts it, "only five more wake-ups!"

chow bella!
