a week long birthday.

so miley's birthday week finally concluded after friday night. i don't think we've had that much celebrating since christmas. my in-laws came over to our humble place friday night for dinner. we rang in their march birthdays that night as well, as they are only a week apart. we ate world famous tacos, strawberry shortcake, opened gifts and sadly watched the zags lose (embarrassing, really). we are so thankful that we live closer to them to be able to spend more time before we head off across the country. our time together was very refreshing and encouraging.

i can't forget to mention that my gran'ma got married! she has known her, now husband, since high school and they were reacquainted on their 60th reunion planning committee. the cutest part? gran'ma was valedictorian and he was the big man on campus, all star sports player. gran'ma had a crush on him during high school. recently, grandpa roy took gran'ma out to lunch and six weeks later they were engaged. and four days later, they were married! this last thursday, with a small gathering of family, they announced their love for one another. and i have to say, i have never been the guest at a wedding via phone. i had the privilege to experience technology in the best fashion, attend a wedding in my pj's and still get to hear the giddy laugh of my gran'ma as she married her best friend. my cousin called moments before the ceremony started, set it on speaker phone and set myself and my aunt in florida directly behind the pastor officiating. it was so wonderful to be a "part" of something so special. and we might just have an extra guest with us on our trip to england? *wink.
