happy epiphany! (if i could make that green, i'd be all over it)
epiphany is the celebration of the coming of the three wise men to baby Jesus with their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. whether it was days or weeks after His actual birth, we celebrate it on january 6th.
growing up, we received one gift wrapped boldly in solid kelly green paper. why green you ask? i actually have no idea and have an email to my gran'ma at this very moment to find out. it is always a simple gift. a gift of thoughtfulness and meaning. and always given with this saying, "because God loves you so much He sent His Son to die for you, i give you this gift in love." sealed with a kiss.
tonight for epiphany dinner, i made a poppy seed chicken spinach salad with the works, with crescent rolls on the side. and i must say, it was indeed yummy.
may i be reminded to humbly present my life as a gift to my Jesus. in awe and wonder of His holiness.
It is green because of the everlasting love of God. Green is the color of everlasting.
