paul bunyan who?

with the cold evenings upon us and definitely the frigid mornings, we have started the fire burning season. it is in full swing as the smell of a wood stove fills the air. you would think i'd be anti-wood stove, i.e. flames and lots of them, in my house. but i do relatively well. my phobia for the house catching on fire intensifies by about fifty percent, but other than that, i live in calmness. sort of?

jacob is actually heading up this weekend for two days to chop more wood. he already went up once about two weekends ago. but we usually need about three loads to get through the winter. and this way, there will be leftovers for the friends when they move in in the dead of winter. it works out well being married to a paul bunyan type. believe it or not, he really enjoys going up, falling trees and cutting them into chunks to haul home. we just purchase permits and the forest becomes his playground. and then get this. after he heaves and hoes filling our garage with smelly wood and pine goodness, he uses his wind down time after work splitting it with his axe. fun? relaxing? whatever floats his free time. he's a funny guy. a very attractive, woodsy, funny guy. *wink.

it's pretty awesome knowing that the hubby's hard work pays off by supplying our own heat for the winter. we get to just shut the gas off all year and bask in the warm glow of a fire blazing.
