or is it space? cause seriously, i unexpectedly woke up this morning ready to hit the ground runnin'. no, i'm seriously not going running. walk maybe.
maybe it's the passivity of my brain i've been demanding all of these weeks? or the overwhelming need to get things accomplished around here? or just because there is a truck-load of things passing through my pensive mind lately? yup, that sounds like it. we found a winner.
i can't seem to shake these thoughts that race. just about moving. living in an unfamiliar distant place. unfamiliar to us - completely familiar to the One who's orchestrating this whole affair. thinking about how our cost of living will be taken care of. remembering He has cared for each and every need of every other journey, why would He just up and quite now? if we'll get into our dorms on time. if we don't...what then? knowing that He has a place ready and waiting, prepared. i wouldn't say i'm worried. or even stressed. really, i'm not. i'm just excited, with boundaries. with reason as my guide.
this is really silly, but i'm kind of anxious about decorating a white apartment. i'm so used to color. vibrancy. punch and pizazz. white can certainly offer that...i guess it will just stretch my creative side a little in the decorating department. i read a comment, oh yeah, it was 'everyday life...' who said, "I love that all my old things look fresh and new in a new house!" ok, so it won't be a new house. but it will be a new place. a new home for my belongings. i want it to feel like us. warm. cozy. relaxing. i'm just afraid that will be hard to come-by in barren white walls of an apartment.
so here's my cry for help - leave me a comment with your most-favorite decorating cents/sense! i know any little bit will help and you all have a lot to offer. *smile
I know exactly what you mean about white walls! I have lived in apartments the last 10 years and that was my number 1 pet peeve about apartment living! Hmm...so what did I do? I think to off set the starkness of the white you can get warm colored curtains and warm lighting. No 90 watt light bulbs-or even try colored lamp shades in oranges or browns for a warm glow:)
ReplyDeleteI do not have any doubt whatsoever that your new home won't be cozy. I know it might sound cliche-but home is where the heart is-truly. You have beautiful things and so your new home will be beautiful too!
well what i am going to do is a postcard theme corkboard. Im goijng to get ventage cards of paris and display them the kitchen nook.....and dear you are the one that gave me that idea:)You took cardstock and framed them, turned them into a beautiful peice of art:) Just dig deep down and your creative juices will start to flow:)
