i'm antiqued.

that's right. i now own my very first piece of antiquity.

i crashed my first antique show today with the girls and a couple of fab friends. it was so much fun parading the sights. there are many upon many gorgeous pieces that i wanted to make my own...but alas, i'm not a millionaire. so i settled for one glorious trunk that i couldn't live without. after two phone calls to the hubs to try and talk him into my obsession (what a devious wife i am), my 'early christmas present' ended up in the back of my car. woot woot. do you think i'm waiting 'till christmas to display its magnificent splendor? i think not.

i loved the feeling of being transported to the distant past. until i came upon pieces that i found in my own bedroom as a little girl. wait a minute! i thought i was considered 'vintage' not 'antique'? and what's with the beauty and the beast puppet? umm...do they not know that movie was created in the 90's? ok, so it wasn't all antiques. but my trunk? total treasure trove. dug up from the early era for sure. as soon as i walked in the six-dollar-admission-door, i reminded myself that i wouldn't be caught asleep at one of these things when i was fifteen. just ask my mama. i dreaded being drug into antique shops while on vacation. you can't touch anything. you have to tip toe through the inch wide aisles. this is, of course, how i felt back then. in the olden days. but now, in my vintage old age, i adore finding the story behind the intricite designs of such delicate pieces.

so i'm watching deserving design right now on hgtv and see an obbsessed pattern with vern's apple collection. why does he use green apples in every space? don't get me wrong. green apples are my fav. as well as vern yip. but wow. fifty apples piled in a white dish on every table top is a bit compulsive, no? still love the guy.
