grace of sunshine

you know those weeks that optimistically look appealing before they arrive? well...i started having one of those last week. i.e., nothing planned. low key after a busy weekend. no place to go. nothing to do. somehow within minutes of last sunday, my week was full. full of errand running. spending money. visiting friends. admitting gas into the atmosphere. we might as well see dollar bills floating aimlessly around as they shoot out of our exhaust pipes. not to say i didn't have a pleasant week. because i did. i'm just mentally and physically bushed. i've emotionally let myself forget that i'm sleep-deprived. somehow to help with not suddenly passing out as i sit on the toilet. sit down to eat. anything that has to do with happily giving my tush a rest.

i was going to head out of town this week to visit my sister-in-law, as noted in previous entry. however, i'm pleased to say that it's not until next week. as in, 8 more days of trying to catch up with the house. getting meals planned for the hubby. taking time to plan 3 girl's wardrobes, washed and gently packed. let's see if these plans pan out as expected.

now let's talk about the unexpected. i was reading a friend's blog this afternoon about her future (yes you, it was encouraging). as daunting and unexpected as the future can seem for her, she finds comfort in the Lord's knowledge of their plans. their plans equals His will. i believe wholeheartedly the same thing. and as i wait for results from our application to DTS, i find it not weighing my thoughts like i expected it too. it's been a good couple of weeks since we've turned it in. should be any day now that they reveal what our future holds. the Lord has entrusted a decision to this seminary. knowing exactly where we'll be in 11 months is entirely up to Him. He's graced me with not lingering in worry or angst. He's continued to bring sunshine and warmth to our days. even in the growth of the rainy days, He always brings lessons. teachings of trust and selfless faith. these character traits continue to ripen and strengthen us for our future. for the promise of tomorrow is His.

afterall, these little faces are our promise of tomorrow. beautiful and enriched with joy.

my question of the day: why can't sundays be 36 hours long - a solid 12 hours more of relaxing goodness?
