i want to make it all better for you. i want to make your gums appear in your toothless grin. i would love to be able to hold you for four hours straight to make your fussiness stop. some things are just not practical. i would love to rock you to sleep at every nap time. some things are just not possible. please rest your tired eyes and sweet face, baby girl. have happy dreams. sleep soundly.
until then, i will be here for you. to listen to your cries in my ear. to wipe your little mouth and shirt from mishaps. to cradle you in my arms in peace.
