being a saturday

being a saturday comes with special bonuses. it means the ending of a week. the beginning of a three-day weekend. a day to plan what we won't be doing for the next few days. boy, i like the sound of that. a day to prepare our hearts for worship. a day to accomplish the loose ends. tidy up from the previous days. get done what was left behind.

it helps getting an early start. that's one reason i dig yard sales and the rewards of getting to a good one first. it's motivation to lift my heavy head and bum out of bed before the clock hits 7:00 am. it gets my blood moving and puts one foot in front of the other. after a stimulating morning of coffee, sifting through bargains and hanging out with my girls, we are home by noon and still have a whole day ahead of us. like today, this crazy lady had a store at her house. she called it the "kid's sale" and wow, that's an under-statement. i was there ten minutes before it started and it was twenty minutes away. i went for something specific that i saw in her pictures online that she had several of. yup...they were already gone. i had to wait about 7 minutes in line just to "check out". i did find lots of cute, practically brand new shoes for the girls for dirt cheap prices. i'm not sure if i want to know where she got all of her stuff from. i'll keep my curiosity weighing...

i have a few spray painting projects to finish. i just did three black frames today. i've done a cute black kid's chair and have a little rocker to spray white. i do have available a large antique mirror that has a scrolled & embossed frame that i painted white. it is sturdy & heavy and probably 2' x 3' in size. i think i'm going to list it on craigslist. i love it but it ended up being too big for the top of jessa's dresser. if anyone is interested...

i should probably get back to those 'things left behind' before the girls wake up. we have a two-year old birthday party to go to at the park this evening. let's hope those naps are good. and here's to sugar overloads!
