i just read something that struck me yesterday in one of my scrap magazines. a title read on a page:
if only everyday could be so average
as i was rocking on the front porch, coffee in hand, magazine in the other. giggles and singing of a little girl in my front yard and another sleeping soundly at my side, i couldn't help but have a thankful moment for these average days. we spent almost two hours that day discovering bugs and learning not to be afraid. dancing around the lawn, pink dress floating beautifully above the vibrancy of the green grass. drawing sunshines on the pavement in purple. it was a wake-up moment for mommy. i was a little bummed that i've been without car for the last few days. now that we've downsized to becoming a one-vehicle family (still a huge blessing), jacob has needed it for various reasons, leaving us girls "stuck" at home, i like to call it. but i'm realizing that my poutiness is a disguise to just do nothing. i'm realizing that it's ok to just be adventurous like a three year old. run around like a crazy. dance like i'm at a ball. pretend like i've never seen a roly-poly before to dramatize the excitement. to just do the things that we do. on a perfectly average day. so what if i don't have a car today. it leaves me at home to discover my girls in new ways. and to not spend money while i'm out.
thank you, Lord, for the sunshine. for finding little pink glasses with smiles attached. and perfectly average days to learn.
Don't you love how the Lord uses these average moments to open our eyes! i sure know he has done that to me MILLION of times! Oh and by the way...LOVE thoes sunglasses!
