{06.05.10} saturday: i've been blessed to feel very content about our apartment ever since we've lived here. being a little skeptical before we moved, i was a bit concerned, but excited, for the smaller space. i looked forward to condensing, living more 'simple' and getting rid of the clutter that can easily take over a home, robbing any space of much needed peace. thankfully, i still walk around it, mindful of the blessings it has provided, the guests it has welcomed and the conversations it has yielded. that brings me to notice that i'm not thankful of what's in it as much as i'm thankful for what fills it. this verse has been on my heart and this specific reference comes from the message translation:
12-14 so, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. and regardless of what else you put on, wear love. it's your basic, all-purpose garment. never be without it.
15-17 let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. none of this going off and doing your own thing. and cultivate thankfulness. let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. give it plenty of room in your lives. instruct and direct one another using good common sense. and sing, sing your hearts out to God! let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.

colossians 3:12-17 the message
i believe what we 'wear' and choose to perfume ourselves with will permeate the home with its scent. i constantly hope and pray my home is saturated with love, compassion and the obvious scent of Who runs the house.

{06.06.10} sunday: this week's sisterly moment brought to you by new dresses by great g'ma d', miley girl being completely silly with a side of cute, contagious big sister giggles.
{06.07.10} monday: i'm not sure if you know, but we love to swim {that was purposely smothered with sarcasm *wink}. jessa has really taken off with her swimming this year. the hubby has been teaching her all kinds of different techniques, which means she has most definitely surpassed me in any knowledge of water. quite frankly, it still scares me. but jessa girl? she's a natural fish, leaving this mama proud...and wondering if she could teach me a thing or two. yes?

{06.08.10} tuesday: i kinda forgot to mention that we adopted a beta fish awhile back. when our dear friends moved out in may, they left us a part of their family. jessa appropriately renamed her {i think i was told it was a girl because of her redish purple coloring - could be totally wrong} 'flounder'.

{06.09.10} wednesday: these two surely have something special. a super sweet visit from great gran'ma o-w and g'pa roy filled our afternoon with rounds of candyland and coloring. and a starbucks treat from g'pa roy!

{06.10.10} thursday: as gross and unhealthy as this might look, it's actually quite delicious. may not be healthy, but stinkin' yummy! i'm excited to post my first full color-picture recipe on my blog once i get caught up, featuring my mama's world famous beef-bean-cheese burritos. they are fried in greasy goodness and scrumptious to the taste, but unfortunately, not to the hips. ah, well...it's never stopped me before. this amount could feed a small army, as it is great to make for casual dinner parties or mexican food night. dee-lish! stay tuned...
love my girls
