life, everyday {week forty seven}.

{05.07.10} friday: as adorable as this was, it broke my heart just a little bit. i woke up this morning to one enthusiastic traveler, ready and packed for grammy and papa's. jessa was so super excited to fill me in on what she gathered for her trip on the airplane - and then came the question: "are we going today?" it didn't take me long to realize this is going to be a very long 6+ months, the actual time it will be before we board any kind of plane. the concept of time is an evil, tricky thing.

{05.08.10} saturday: we had the joy of going to a little friend's tee ball game. his family is in our same small group and what better way than to share in the reality of each other's lives...we like to call it 'doing life' together. as chaotically fun and hilarious a four year old team can be, it was pure awesomeness to see the excitement on their faces as they "hit" an in-field home run due to overthrown base passes. chasing the ball, sliding, and victory dances are just a few of l.j.'s specialties. miley had some of her own dugout privileges too...
{05.09.10} sunday: we had a lovely mother's day, despite my persistent headache that tried to rob the joy of spending the day as a family. i felt like yelling, "get behind me, satan!" towards it, but resorted to poppin' a few tylenol instead. i'm thinking the harsh words may have worked better wonders now that i look back. ah, well. i slurped my way through a massive bowl of mongolian goodness, came home to sleep off the carb coma, and woke to my favorite coffee delight! the girlies got me a beautimous bouquet and colored pictures that i immediately added to their art binders. gosh, i just love the gift of being their mommy!
{05.10.10} monday: what small family of four doesn't need 13 lbs of sunkist navel oranges from costco? the hubby insisted. and promised to demolish them all.
{05.11.10} tuesday: i miss them. like, a lot.
{05.12.10} wednesday: a few morning sillies with mommy. she's the first thing i see every. single. morning. her little peanut face stands inches from mine as i crease open the slits-for-eyes, crusties and all. she'll either gently pet my face like a puppy or give me a sweet miley kiss to wake me up. she's a morning joy! even if it is only half past six.
{05.13.10} thursday: these little sausages are about ready to double fist it. bring on the chips! with a mission and a smirk, she goes in for more...leaving mere salty crumbs in her tracks.
