life, everyday {week forty nine}.

it has been one cah-ray-zee week! totally fun, but crazy.

{05.21.10} friday: the camera and i took a walk. history humming amidst a peaceful campus is a bit soothing. the rustic wisdom found in each brick speaks quiet words if you listen with just the right desire in your heart. it's there. present and powerful.
{05.22.10} saturday: my sweet, sweet girls. the three of us were invited to swim and bbq with friends down the hallway. it was a nice escape from our usual saturday evening and our usual weekend pizza for dinner.
{05.23.10} sunday: more swimming. more friends. more big, beautiful smiles captured.
{05.24.10} monday: this time of year stinks. i'll never get used to the ritual that summer brings. the constant move-outs, packed boxes, and tear-filled hugs {especially from five year olds}. it's hard to explain why friends leave so often, a new journey beginning doesn't make sense to a broken-hearted toddler. sometimes, it doesn't make sense to me. but tonight, we had the chance to just enjoy each other's presence. enjoy being in the midst of mommy's who share the same passion. share each other's pain. joy. and laughter. in the end, we're all boarded for the same destination and i'm thankful that we don't travel alone.
{05.25.10} tuesday: my babe, you're as sweet as that overly stuffed double scoop ice cream cone. it's our eighth anniversary today and even though my age reminds me it's true, i still feel like we're blissfully being swept away in your red sports car back in 2001. thank you for reminding me of everything that's good and true in life. oh, and i'll always have a thing for you. *wink
{05.26.10} wednesday: i think we found a new tradition for our anniversary celebration. since the beginning of the year, we started planning and saving little by little for a special mini-getaway for our anniversary. originally, we thought it would just be the two of us for a long weekend. plans changed with our previous arrangements and two days before our anniversary, we still didn't know what we would be doing. thankfully, the great wolf lodge was the answer and more fun than we could have spent five months planning! we booked our night the day before we left, spending two days and one night with the girlies. it was exciting to be able to spend our special time as a whole family, explaining to them why we were there and what we were celebrating. my small dream to get away as a family before the hubby's summer classes start was fulfilled as well. i guess you could also call this our summer vacation. *smile
{05.27.10} thursday: the morning after we got back, the fun didn't stop. we went to a crazy play place for a friend's 5th birthday party. with all the climbing, running, and jumping these girls did, i wouldn't be shocked if they sleep through memorial weekend.
