life, everyday {week thirty five}.

{02.12.10} friday: a dear friend quickly made - a.k.a. jordyn's mommy. unfortunately for us, they are moving in two weeks. it's a great opportunity for them and being only 45 minutes away, i'm trying not to dwell in the selfishness it causes. i found out at the end of this week that is was a solid, set in stone decision. *sniff* she's taking her pastor hubby and three beautiful babushkas with her. she's the reason i can go out shopping alone with my visiting mama, the reason jacob and i get date nights, the support behind the forming of our playgroup. she's a shared cup of coffee. a counseling companion. a late night girl's night. i've learned that as much as we get spoiled living here, there's something to be said with friends moving out so often. something i don't think i'll ever 'just get used to'.
{02.13.10} saturday: at almost two, miley loves, and i mean loves, wearing something, and i mean anything, on her head {this includes mommy's [clean] underwear...yes, yes it does}. hats, hoodies, beanies...you name it, you'll find it on her head.
{02.14.10} sunday: here's my hope; that my girls, on valentine's day, will feel mommy and daddy's love for them and each other in a very special way. and that this love will seep into their hearts, lighting a fire for their love of their heavenly Father. because His love? will make them feel like the princesses that they truly are.
{02.15.10} monday: one of jessa and mommy's [monthly] chores is to go through their dresser drawers cleaning out clothes that don't fit or they don't wear {ie. that jess doesn't like anymore}. it has to be often to tame the ugly beast that is easily unleashed behind the cuteness of a little girl's white dresser. and it gives jessa a chance to satisfy her need to organize. ok, ok...me too.
{02.16.10} tuesday: lovelovelove it! gah. i just have to say it: this semester is way harder than last {as in, time consumption}. and this is coming from the wife of the student. the girlie girl's bedtime routine is pretty much the defining moment of their day because it is guaranteed daddy time. no matter what he's doing {unless he's closing at work, obviously}, he puts it down to spend time with them before they go to bed. it makes my heart happy to watch them giggle together and spend the last minutes of their day wrapped in the warmth of their daddy lovin' on them.
{02.17.10} wednesday: something has been going on inside of me that i'm eager to document and save for future reference. i believe the Lord's been preparing my heart for something greater than i can imagine for myself and my family. He's been sifting things around and placing new passions i never knew i had before. He's taking interests i've always had and setting then on fire, turning them into something larger. He's softening my heart for His people in other nations, exciting me for the idea of serving somewhere afar. it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it, as i look at pictures of His beautiful people all over the world. today, i talked with my dad and mom via skype about his recent trip to mali, africa. it was amazing, impacting, and inspiring - to say the least. i want to be a part of something like that. i want to be a part of exactly that. no matter where we are sent. no matter if it's across the street. or across the globe. but it's exciting and it's an exciting process to feel the molding that is going on inside of me.
{02.18.10} thursday: jessa and jordyn, bestest of friends. they love going anywhere together, which is exactly why they squeezed their tiny little biscuits into a single stroller seat. oh, and then there's miley...squeezing her own somethin' into the picture. *wink
