good things.

as much as i love the atmosphere during a good party, the warmth left behind in the midst of a clean and orderly house is priceless.

i love how the house captures evidence of good times had. i love the remnants of visitors left behind - found in their empty cup sitting on the side table, the little pieces of paper scattered-evidence that crafts were made, the leftover snacks littering the counter tops.

i love the glow of an evening lamp lit - single and bright as it sits softly cornered. the smell of baked goods lingering. the feeling of friendship and fellowship seeped into the four walls. something good is found in the moments after everyone is gone. a quietness. a peaceful stillness.

tonight was my first hosted party in our apartment. two days before we move, i purposefully kept it together to offer the warmth and coziness it brings. i l-o-v-e hosting parties. i l-o-v-e getting treats to share and crafts organized, ready to complete. i l.o.v.e. offering a time of rest and relaxation. and hopefully, tonight, it was just that.
