another silent afternoon while sleeping babies rest. eyes softly shut with sweet breaths echoing in a room of quieted peace. tucked warmly under soft blankies, heads resting on cushions of stuffed frogs and under one arm, a clenched puppy sleeps.
in and out.
their breathing is like a rhythm of rest for my own soul.
in and out.
i'm quickly reminded how sleepy my heavy eyes are. how tightly my back is strained. how weak my own body feels today.
in and out.
one breath, one thought, at a time.
you know the feeling when you're body's run a marathon, but your foot hasn't pound the pavement with even one step? personally, i wouldn't know what it feels like to run a marathon, one mile for that matter. but i can imagine. and imagine well. i guess what i'm trying to convey is an idea that i hurt, i'm in pain...but i'm not too sure why. i haven't done anything strenuous. i haven't exhausted myself by staying up ridiculous hours into the night. i most definitely haven't run any form of distance recently. or ever. i haven't fallen off a cliff or bungee jumped from a lofty bridge.
but i do struggle with scoliosis. and that might be my very answer.
it may just be getting worse.
and i may just have to take a few extra moments to breathe. breathe in those slivers of grace. i could use a few extra doses today.
in and out.
in and out.
yes, please keep breathing. :)
