life, everyday {week six}.

week six? already? holy moses.

{07.24.09} friday: according to jessa, life-size minnie mouse was going to help with dinner tonight. if only those giant hamburger helper size hands could really stir my pot of rice...dinner preparations would never be the same. it was too hot on the stove top, so she had to sit and watch instead. the girls didn't seem to mind, they found it completely entertaining either way.
{07.25.09} saturday: this morning was no different as i woke to jess attempting to put her beloved puzzles together in record time. she loves showing off her finished product, almost as if the picture changes each time she does it. i love watching her concentrate, learn and finish with such a feeling of accomplishment.
{07.26.09} sunday: miley loves sitting on the kitchen floor. granted, this is where she knows she will receive her juice and snack, as both must stay in the kitchen at.all.times. but as i look at this picture, it flashes me back to my childhood days spent squatted on a brown and orange linoleum floor visiting with my mama as she whipped up her latest culinary creation. i usually chose the vent to sit on in the corner...not too sure why. but it was a happy place for me - a place to get to know my mom. a place to feel comfortable in conversation. a place to lick the mixing bowl batter. thanks miley, for reminding me that the happiest of times are spent on the kitchen floor.
{07.27.09} monday: this picture is a new favorite. miley is figuring out how to properly hold a book on her own. unlike before {in the learning process}, she would typically hold the book upside down, throw it and then proceed to walk all over it. as she watches big sister and observes during reading time, i think she's getting the idea. and i just love it.
{07.28.09} tuesday: meet jonah. we have the pleasure of fish-sitting for two weeks while his family is on vacation. this is a great opportunity for jessa to learn how to take care of God's little creatures by feeding him and yes, even talking to him. jessa was concerned that jonah was sad for the first couple of days because he missed lizzy. she also thinks he is hungry about every two hours. we'll have to work on that one. we hope to get the girls their own fish soon after jonah has to go back home.
{07.29.09} wednesday: naptime anyone? this was just too cute.
{07.30.09} thursday: i don't know how they do it. but they did. they made my day just by plopping this bit of goodness in our mailbox. i could look at this for hours, drooling and oooing and ahhing over their creative rooms and innovative furniture. the organizational bug in me gets a rush as i peek into each room offered on these glorious pages. hold me.
