family news blogcast.

-{miley} has been enjoying running around in her diaper while i try to keep the thermostat at just the right temp. with these storms one after another, it's hard to find the right balance. and much to sister's dismay, she repeatedly tells her, "you NEED to get dressed miley!" i have a feeling jess thinks it's not "lady like" to run around partially naked {a trait that is quickly sinking in as we teach her how to properly sit and modestly dress}. miley continues to keep us laughing {and on our toes} with her quirkiness and rascally behavior. she is optimistically showing signs of organizing during playtime. the way she helps clean up, putting things away just as they were are encouraging to a little mama. especially a mama who borderlines obsessive perfectionism {my poor girls}. our littlest peanut is continuing to grow and eats incredible amounts of food. i'm not kidding when i tell you that she scarfed down her salmon dinner with mashed potatoes and continued eating jessa's who couldn't finish due to an upset tummy. two dinners! one plate bigger than the other wasn't going to stop her!

-{jessa} has been completely intrigued with puzzles since we've been here and is now finishing them in record time. she is also becoming quite the little artist with her outlined coloring skills {makes me proud! *wink}. she always has someone in mind to give her coloring page to after she's done perfecting her work. "mama, you HAVE to send this one to savannah in the mail. maybe she'll put it on her fridge", she insists with complete pride and enthusiasm. you know, this is a good lesson to teach someone like me who's constantly critical of her own work. perfectionism is a horrible quality when it consumes the view of something beautifully flawed. art, after all, is abstract creativity defined by the artist themselves. jessa has defined her work as something to be proud of {and to be shared}...and for that, i am proud of her. anyway, moving on.

-{the hubby} has been totally entranced in his new world of everything coffee. he comes home filled with obscene amounts of information concerning coffee flavor, coffee grinding, coffee aroma, coffee shots. he's also a wee bit overhauled on caffeine, as he has to try every type of drink they serve. bummer deal, eh? can i just say that i have found my dream guy working my dream job. could it really get any better than this? *wink. he's looking pretty good sporting that infamous green apron too. i'm just sayin'. we're thankful that he was able to start his job before school started. the amount of information he has to read through and homework he has to fill out is a bit much. at least, it would be if he was doing master degree level classes at the same time. the Lord knows all about timing so i say we just continue to leave it up to Him - He seems to have it covered. *smile.

-{me} i've been...feeling better in the terms of missing "home" - homesickness, i guess. however, we received an email today from jacob's parents with incredible pics of their farmhouse property that looks over the most gorgeous country. yeeeah, thanks mom and dad for that one. didn't help the whole ordeal. *wink. actually, it did...seeing the most pixel-perfect sunset on the horizon reminded me that there's one waiting for us here too. new, beautiful days are ahead! and i'm ready. as for my health, it's still on the down turn. i really do despise complaining, so i'll just say it how it is. i live every day in pain and exhaustion, i crumble at the thought of just getting by when it comes to taking care of my girls and i want to just lay in bed all day...at least, that's what my body is telling me, but my mind says something entirely different {you know the battle? it happens in one way or another on a daily basis} as it curses the pain. i continue to pray scripture, seek God and humble myself to His soothing grace. it's really all i can do. He's good and like i've said before, i will forever anticipate a miracle. and be grateful that it isn't hereditary.
