my head finally hit the pillow at 5 am this morning to attempt to sleep. i slept for an hour and was startled awake by an alarm. the hubby had already scheduled to have today off to help in the healing process, but forgot to shut his daily jingle off. i managed several hours of rest throughout the morning. and now i can only anticipate the major crash my body will hit any day now. i keep reminding myself that this will pass.
i spent the dark morning hours watching the news over and over and over again. the same stories repeating themselves, obviously the highlights in our world news for the day. the big financial guru's recession summit in london, the riots, {not} having chimpanzees as pets, the snow advisories, octo-mom's car seat invasion, our dying world economy & budget battles, crashing mortgage rates, market downfalls, multi-millionaires behind bars, dads robbing convenient stores with nine year old daughters...you know, the usual.
i also managed to write miley's birthday thank you's and finished the second draft of our new family newsletter that will be going out soon. i'm excited to start this snail mail publication that is really an extension of this blog for friends and family that have been part of our journey from the beginning. and those that have joined us along the way. another way to stay connected. informed. accountable to our calling.
our car is currently still in the hospital - its surgery taking a bit longer than expected. the poor subi had another diagnosis today that needed to be fixed, so we just tallied it up with the rest. we are so thankful that it is getting done and that we will be back on the stall-free road soon. it's never something we intend or wish to deal with, but it's part of life and always offers a teachable moment. ah, the cost of responsibility. priceless.
i pray your friday brings hope for a refreshing and renewed weekend!
