a little bit of nothing.

but a whole lot of something.

you know those mornings you wake up and the house looks exactly the way you left it the previous morning? or two mornings ago...like in my case. pile of clean clothes on the couch. dishes in the sink. basket{s} overflowing just on the other side of the counter. stack of mail invading the corner 'drop-off zone'. it's quite intrusive on my morning to walk out and be bombarded with yesterday's stuff. it all looks a bit more stark and apparent in the morning's light. like it's belligerently taunting me, "good morning! now clean me up!!"

we've been running, running, running. and the house has been sitting, sitting, sitting. in all of its glory. even when we're not here, it still shows signs of someone being present. very present. hmm...

i vowed to make a quick pharmacy trip and {another} walley world run this morning and stay at home for the remainder of the day. it means something when you're aunt says to you, "boy! you guys sure are on the move a lot!", as we left the house for the umpteenth time.

i've managed to come down with a little something i like to call crud. i'm not sure if it's allergies or the energy/sleep i've been slightly lacking. it's tiresome running full pedal to the metal for five days straight. this is not a good sign for what my body can, or can't, handle. i could very well be more active in the coming weeks. but i guess i won't have two wee ones with me that i'm constantly caring for. which, my eyes didn't do a very good job at walmart today. jessa climbed underneath the cart on the platform part where you put your case of water or diapers. i totally remember doing this when i was little too...the view is so much more intriguing. suddenly, i heard terrifying squeals for help and that her knee was stuck. in between two of the bars, her knee slid to a tight spot that was not willing to let go. an employee came to our rescue and after several minutes of a toddler on her death bed, about ready to make her death wish in between frightening cries, i slid her leg to a higher spot and it popped right out. i almost had to fill out an accident report for the store, but i reassured them that she was mostly scared. after ten minutes of gasping sobs, we were back on our way to filling the inside of our cart. injury free.

being a tired mom is sometimes so much more exciting than being a mom that has it completely together. where's the fun in that?

  1. I'm totally with you on this one. Things have been crazy around here, too! I'm thankful that I don't have anything going on next week so I can catch up!

  2. Ahhh..in just a few short days you will be in Europe drinking coffee in a cute little cafe or something.

Getting ready for vacation can be so tiring! I hope you are able to relax a bit before you go. I can't wait to see all the pics you will take, it will be amazing.

    Your jealous friend,
