i usually don't like talking about things that are touchy with people, but this weekend's superbowl was just that. i can handle when my team loses (after all, i am a seahawks fan), especially when it was a good game. but the refs. and the dirty after play punches. and the missed calls. and the sad fact that warner didn't get his ring. all flashbacks. these are all things that are up for debate and believe me, i'm sure we'll be hearing about it in the media. and the commercials? they were ok. as expected, there were a few that were head turners, a few that had us rolling and a few that totally wasted their three million thirty second spot of fame. sometimes, i just don't get it.
we had a great weekend with my family watching the game. we couldn't remember the last time we were all together for superbowl weekend. i think we guesstimated it was when us kids were in high school. as given, i had to break my diet (but just a smidge) to eat my mama's tacos and brother and sister-in-law's cheesecake. i mean, i had to be polite. that would just be rude to say no. *wink.
as always, it was great to see friends at church on sunday that we just don't get to connect with on a weekly basis anymore. and there just doesn't seem to be enough time in the few moments between sunday morning transitions. a few of the topics of conversation: discussing miley's diaper remnants (stimulating, my friend), how big of a deal it is to move to dallas, some fabulous adoption information, this season's cold and flu's, and raspberry mochas (no, i didn't get one *sniff), just to name a few.
i am off to start another 'office' marathon with the hubby. season two. good stuff.
