7 day love challenge

brought to you by national marriage week, families NW.

this officially started on saturday, feb. 7, but who doesn't need a good challenge at the beginning of the week? are you in? the goal is to make these important things (like saying 'i love you') come naturally and bring comfort to you and your spouse.

day one. write a thank you card to each other listing ten things that you admire and appreciate.

day two. give your spouse three heart felt compliments throughout today. possible areas to focus on: attitude, appearance, actions, articulations, and attributes.

day three. write an email or text a short message about your love for your spouse. do this several times during the day. one way to start these messages: i love you because...

day four. give your spouse a small gift they would enjoy (a rose, a cup of coffee, candy, a gift card, a book). start reading a book on relationships.

day five. plan a day trip or a longer getaway that the two of you can take together sometime in the next six months.

day six. sincerely apologize for three things you've done that might have been hurtful, selfish, or offensive during the past six months.

day seven. snuggle together on the couch with your favorite dessert(s) and watch a romantic movie together.

valentine's day is at the end of the challenge. it mentions to go out somewhere, looking your best, and reminiscing about the most romantic places you've been together. the four of us like to celebrate valentine's as a family, calling it love 'n stuff day. we stay in, decorate our dinner table, and make it a special evening.

what are some of your most memorable valentine's? what are your plans this year? by the way, it's on saturday. *wink.

  1. That's a great list. It would be good to post it on the fridge to be reminded of it all year round!

We will most likely be celebrating V's day as a family too. Will your tabletop be decorated in cute owl and heart plates from Target??? I'd love to see pics of your decorations;)

PS-I'm still so jealous that the girl stuff is so much cuter!!
