1. miley dislikes baby food. no wonder she's so tiny. she does, however, still love her mushy rice cereal; which has absolutely zero taste to it. completely baffling. i am actually discovering that she has a flair for big people food. loving smashed banana. oatmeal. crackers. the good stuff. with flavor.
2. she slept a healthy 12 hours last night! i have never felt the need to check on my children while they sleep. i have a peace knowing they are snug and cozy in their beds. i do from time to time sneak in to watch them snooze because it is better than watching anything on tv. way better. anyway, after a good twelve hours, i peaked in to see her head popped up and sleepy eyes squinting towards the light. i proceeded to thank her with smooches and snuggles.
3. last week, she decided she wanted to work on pulling herself up to her sitting knee position. this has become a favorite as she uses mommy as a prop. we guesstimate her crawling by christmas.
4. she's a shopper. just like her mama. let me preface this by saying, uh-oh. every morning, she screams. yes, it's true. she is either not a morning person, or she just wants to get out. one of the reasons i am out and about so much is because she is an absolute peach to go out with. she adores being outdoors. or shopping. or riding in the car (which wasn't the case in her earlier months - very interesting). or being strolled around in her stroller. whatever it is, she has to be on the move.
5. drum roll please....today, she sat up from lying down all by her big girl self! she was attempting to take an afternoon nap, but after fussing for a bit, i went in to get her. as i walked into the room, there she was staring right at me. sitting. up. it was definitely one of those 'mommy moments'. i love having those. just like when i get ready to crawl into bed and i throw back the covers and lo and behold, there's two pink little socks tucked beneath the sheets. i giggle and am reminded how gratefully blessed i am.
What a big girl! She was so tiny when we left, I can't believe it!
ReplyDeleteTry getting the book First Meals by Annabel Karmel. Savannah was not a big fan of baby food either, so I used this book and made it myself. It really was easy once I got started and she loved it.
Plus, there are really yummy recipes for the whole family (try the sticky mango chicken, yummy!)
awesome! thanks mandy!
ReplyDeleteand that does mean 6:37 am our time, right? cause if not, i'd be a little too worried that you're addicted to 'pathwords'. :)
that's so great that she's slept a whole 12 hours for you! yippee!
ReplyDeleteI can personally attest that Miley is such a peach when it comes to shopping:)
