twenty-five days of christmas #2

2. looking at christmas lights. or christmas light peeping, as my mom jokingly said. it is a tradition i can remember from way back when. after the christmas eve church service, we would cruise around in our black bronco as young bucks, visiting christmas carol lane as santa passed out candy canes. those were good times. it's not as elaborate as it used to be, but it is still a tradition we now share with the girls. jessa loves seeing all the characters plopped in people's yards and the giant stars that protrude from rooftops. it really is a magical time. to see the wonder in her eyes as the reflection of the light sparkles back. tonight, the snow was falling heavily, but peacefully. it was a beautiful addition to this special family time we share.

and now, the stockings are stuffed. the house is quiet. and this mrs. claus is off to bed.

wishing you a joyous and merry christmas as you reflect on the wonder of our Savior's birth!
