19. decorating the tree. a beloved tradition found in almost every home. in our home, it's just as special each year. and no, this is not our big tree like i was hoping, but you know what? it's perfect. it's perfect because the girls can get a closer look. it's just their size. and it's just the right size for our small space. and many presents can't fit underneath. and yes, that is a good thing. *wink.
miley was fascinated with this new wonder. she bounced up and down for a good ten minutes. jessa adoringly exclaimed how much she loved it and after decorating was done, she suggested we turn the lights out to admire it (grammy, i thought that would make you proud). it adds extra coziness to this christmas house, with its warm glow and treasured keepsakes hanging from its branches. i love that each ornament has a special meaning. i distinctively remember receiving or selectively choosing just the right one for each stocking every year. jessa's started the year she was born. hallmark began a fairy series that are delicate and remind me of her innocence and beauty. miley's this year will be a traditional "baby's first christmas" with an adorable bear that resembles her sweet face.
