black snow.

what do you get when one sleepy wife wakes up to black snowflakes falling from the sky?

a husband racing home to make sure our house isn't burning down.

sooo...yeeeaaah. the chimney has a doctor's appointment tomorrow to get a good scrub down. the said wife has warned the said husband that it was overdue for a checkup. there were pieces of soot shooting out of the chimney this morning and falling gracefully to the ground in a pile of black snow. the house is safe, the fire in the insert is out and our furnace is lit. because, afterall, it is cold outside.

and it's only costing $125 to make sure the house doesn't burn down. yay for fire safety. have i mentioned i have an utter disdain for fire? oh, i have. ok.
