can i get a spud?

i took the girls to Idaho today to visit some good friends that moved there about three weeks ago. i quickly realized that i probably should not have been driving until i catch up on my sleep. you know the feeling you get when driving {somewhat} long distances? add that on top of my sleepless weekend equals a deadly combination.

we miss our thrift shopping, park playing and picture taking with these friends. it was adventurous to enjoy the beauty of the idaho mountains and take a walk to their side of the park. the wind caught us off guard as we walked briskly to the new play equipment. i think it was a little piece of heaven surrounded by bark for miss jessa. let's just say we caught a glimpse of one of her rare "fits" when we had to leave. with the absence of a nap, it was a rather "testy" one.

i was very impressed with one of jessa's accomplishments today. the new equipment at their park had a very high climbing wall that she willingly took on by herself. i suddenly heard savannah yelling, "jess! grab my hand! jess!" i figured this could only mean one thing, so i went towards the wall to find her at the very top whimpering. as i gently guided her with my words (since i couldn't even reach her to help), she successfully reached the top and exclaimed, "I DID IT ALL MYSELF!" she was relishing in a proud moment. i had to squash it by encouraging her to maybe not take that way up anymore. trust me, it was high. a little scary for mama. but impressive, nonetheless. :)

here's miss miley demonstrating her new favorite trick. she loves lifting her head from her seat to peek and play. checking out what's going on around her. it was a very delightful day as we picked daddy up from work on our way back to town. we came home to greet a few people to look at a couple of things on our craigslist account. i think we have officially sold everything that we possibly can before we move. we figure we need a place to sit, sleep and eat. we're good to go. i'm so excited that we have purchased jessa's dresser and bed. her bed won't arrive until mid-september, but we took her dresser home yesterday. my project for tomorrow is to get it all pretty and organized. it has so much more room than her other one. it's big. it's pretty. and it's white. once i get it done, i should post a pic. it currently is a house to all of her stuffed animals...super cute.
